Burleson Takes Part In D.E.A.R. Day
Have you ever just wanted to drop everything you’re doing and read something just for fun?
Bobcats player Kevin Burleson helped a group of local children do just that on Thursday, June 16 at the Third Annual D.E.A.R Day at ImaginOn.
“Drop Everything and Read” Day is a citywide event held at ImaginOn, where Burleson and a group of other local celebrities read to groups of children and passed out Bobcats mini-basketballs and Read to Achieve T-shirts.
D.E.A.R. Day has become an annual tradition for Charlotte Reads and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library. The event encourages everyone in the city to read something just for fun for at least 15 minutes starting at Noon.
D.E.A.R Day was open to the public, and new books were given to each attendee. After the readings were finished, a concert by the band Lunch Money was held for all the D.E.A.R Day participants.
