Carolinas Connection
Once again in 2003-04 the Carolinas region is well-represented on NBA rosters as 25 of the 29 teams have a player from the Carolinas. In the 2002-03 season, North Carolina was tied for second among all states for NBA players who attended college in the state, behind California. The combination of North and South Carolina moved the region narrowly behind California. In 2001-02, North Carolina and California each had an NBA-best 33 players from its state’s universities and South Carolina added eight players. Below is a list of those players on 2003-04 rosters who attended college or grew up in the Carolinas, plus head coaches and front office executives with area ties.
