May 10, 2005 - Tour presenters Concert Productions International, The Next Adventure, Cellar Door Concerts and the Charlotte Bobcats Organization announced today that the Rolling Stones will appear ON STAGE this fall at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena. The October 21, 2005 appearance date sets the arena’s opening ahead of schedule and marks the facility’s first concert.

“This is a very exciting time as the days draw closer to the opening of the Charlotte Bobcats Arena,” said Ed Tapscott, President/COO of the Charlotte Bobcats Organization, which owns and operates the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats, the WNBA’s Charlotte Sting, and will operate the Charlotte Bobcats Arena. “To have the Rolling Stones as the venue’s first ticketed event puts Charlotte in a special place on the band’s world tour and will serve as the tip off to the fall and a series of memorable first events in the new arena.”

Tickets for Rolling Stones ON STAGE World Tour go on sale Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices will be $160.00, $95.00 and $60.00 (plus applicable service fees). A limited number of gold circle tickets will also be available. Tickets will be available online at www.charlottebobcatsarena.com or by calling 1-800-495-2295. Tickets also can be purchased in person at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center Ticket Outlet (line lottery will be utilized).

The Rolling Stones ON STAGE World Tour kicks off at Boston’s legendary Fenway Park on August 21st. With 35 dates already confirmed in the U.S. and Canada, the band will then tour Mexico, South America, the Far East and finally Europe in the summer of 2006.

“We are very excited to be the only Carolinas tour stop for the Rolling Stones,” said Charlotte Bobcats Arena Chief Operating Officer Barry Silberman. “I can’t think of a better act to open the Charlotte Bobcats Arena. They have defined rock and roll for millions of fans worldwide.
