Bobcats Charitable Foundation Awards Grants

As part of their on-going community relations endeavors, the Bobcats Charitable Foundation awards grants to deserving area organizations each year to help enrich the lives of children in the Charlotte area. The foundation selects the grant recipients based on their commitment to the areas of literacy, fitness, wellness and exposure to the arts.

This year, seven local charities were selected as the first-ever grant recipients. These recipients are as follows:

  • Gaston Literacy Council Reading Soul Mates
  • Charlotte Housing Authority Scholarship Fund
  • Community School of the Arts
  • Jewish Community Center Operation Jump Start Program
  • Presbyterian Hospital Foundation Healthy Adventures Program
  • A Child's Place
  • Girl Talk Foundation Inc.

Each of these recipients were honored by Charlotte Bobcats and Sting Owner Robert L. Johnson in a ceremony during the Bobcats vs. Bucks game on February 22, 2005.

To support their mission, the Bobcats Charitable Fund hosts numerous fund-raising events throughout the year including their signature event, the Charlotte Jumper Classic which is held each spring.
