THE RESULT
Head Coach Steve Clifford said earlier in the week he would not hesitate to sit Jeffery Taylor, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Bismack Biyombo and Cody Zeller if the Cats continued to advance in the NBA Summer League Championship bracket. Clifford held true to his word on July 20 in Las Vegas as all four Charlotte starters sat out the quarterfinal contest. The remaining Cats put up a solid performance led by Abdul Gaddy's 17 points and advanced to the semifinals with an 85-75 win over the D-League Select squad.

TURNING POINTS
Charlotte fell behind, 9-6, early in the contest but found success spreading the ball around as the Cats rallied to tie things at 12-12 before rattling off seven-straight points to take a 19-12 lead into the second quarter... Abdul Gaddy picked up the pace with seven second-quarter points that helped Charlotte push the lead to double digits before taking a 38-31 lead at the break... The lead continued to grow thanks to Gaddy's 15 points through three quarters, helping Charlotte to a 60-48 lead heading into the final frame. The great balance from the Charlotte offense was evident entering the fourth with seven players scoring five points or more and only Gaddy in double figures... Back-to-back treys from Gaddy and Brandon Triche early in the fourth put the game out of reach as Charlotte stretched its lead to 16 points (66-50).

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
One look at the box score shows tremendous balance for the Cats in this win. Abdul Gaddy (17 points), Troy Daniels (13), Jamie Skeen (12) and Jerome Dyson (12) all finished in double-digit scoring, while all nine players who saw time for the Bobcats scored five-or-more points... Although the final stat line shows 14 turnovers for the Cats to the D-League Select's 15, it was turnovers that allowed Charlotte to take control of the game in the first half. The Cats coughed it up just five times to the D-League Select's 11. Jamie Skeen led the way for Charlotte with three steals to go with four points and five rebounds in the first half alone and finished with a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) to go with those three steals.

GAME NOTES
The Bobcats handed the D-League Select team its first loss this year in Las Vegas. The D-League select team entered the NBA Summer League Championship as the No. 4 seed and was 4-0 heading into their game with Charlotte... Jeffery Taylor, Bismack Biyombo and Cody Zeller all sat out their first games in Las Vegas. It was the second-straight game Michael Kidd-Gilchrist did not play... Patrick Ewing Jr. took a stitch to his upper lip following a first-quarter collision but returned to finish with five points and six rebounds.
