Bobcats Sports & Entertainment (BSE) President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield and YMCA of Greater Charlotte Senior Vice President for Organizational Advancement/Strategic Partnerships Michael DeVaul announced today the two organizations have entered into a new community partnership focused on enhancing existing programming at YMCA branches and providing members with new benefits.
"For decades, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte has been one of this community's greatest treasures – a place where people of all ages and backgrounds find opportunities to grow and develop," said Whitfield. "Today we take the important step of growing our long-standing relationship with the YMCA into a full-fledged community partnership that helps their branches fulfill their important mission."
Through the community partnership, local YMCA branch members will have access to special rates for tickets to Bobcats home games, with a portion of the proceeds going back to their branch to fund community outreach programming and financial assistance. In addition, Bobcats players will make appearances at local branches and kids participating in YMCA basketball leagues will be invited to watch the Bobcats play at Time Warner Cable Arena©.
"We are grateful for our partnership with the Bobcats as it will provide wholesome and fun experiences for families to do together and promote physical activity for children," said DeVaul.
