Career Highlights

Elliot Lydell Davis currently plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. Dale established the Dale Davis Foundation to benefit at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth.

The foundation is active in Indianapolis, Atlanta, Toccoa and Portland, funding computer literacy programs and scholarships.

He donates tickets for every home game to the Blazers Community program and serves as the team spokesman for literacy.

In the off-season, Dale can be found in his Atlanta-based studio and offices, auditioning new talent, signing contracts and cutting CDs for his record label, which he calls World Ain't Right.

Dale has been making statements on the basketball court ever since his junior year in high school. In his native Toccoa, Georgia, Davis led Stephens County High School in scoring and rebounding in his senior season, and became a highly recruited player.

At Clemson, "Double D," as his teammates call him, led the ACC in rebounding for three straight seasons. As a senior, he averaged 17.9 points and 12.1 rebounds a game. His rebound average, moreover, was the highest any ACC player had achieved in the previous 17 seasons.

Those laurels earned him the attention of every NBA scout, and the Indiana Pacers snapped him up with the 13th pick in the 1991 college draft.

Davis has been an NBA all-star only once, but being selected to the Eastern Conference All-Star team is the moment he cherishes the most in his NBA career. In 14 minutes of action, Davis hauled down a team-high 8 rebounds.
