Meet Todd Bosma, the Events Presentation Manager. Todd is a very busy man with one hectic schedule. He has the dedication and commitment that it takes to make the Trail Blazers games fun and exciting!
Todd is currently entering his 5th season with the Trail Blazers, as well as his 8th season in the NBA and he loves it more today than the day he started. He began doing in-arena stuff back in 1996 when he was an intern with the New Jersey Nets, but that was just sort of helping out - nothing on the microphone. He did in-arena stuff for them for 3 seasons before I moved to Portland in '99. He started doing the stuff on the microphone when he came out here. .
Todd finds his job exciting for a couple of reasons. First reason being that you never know what is going to happen. His favorite contest is the Portland Brewing Dizzy Bat Race. There are times that he has been laughing so hard it is hard for him to talk. Another favorite would be when people make a lot of money in the Bank of America Show Me The Money Shootout, it is great to see their face when they walk off of the floor and he tells them they just won a couple hundred dollars for 30 seconds of their work. It really makes their day, and Todd finds that to be fun and exciting.
He also has had many unique opportunities to meet some interesting people. Such as George Foreman and MC Hammer. He also finds his job to be exciting because he is right in the middle of all the action. Not only does he get to meet people and be in the middle of the action, he has been given the opportunity to work with the Portland Trail Blazers, his office is the Rose Garden. Todd sums up his job by saying,” My job is sooo much fun, I have to pinch myself just to make sure that it is real!! How could my job not be fun and exciting - I would actually have to work hard at making my job not fun."
