The Trail Blazers play their home opener two nights later when they host the L.A. Clippers in the Rose Garden on Friday, November 5.
As in years past, the Trail Blazers will play a two-game series (1 home and 1 road) against all 15 Eastern Conference teams. But due to the addition of the expansion-Charlotte Bobcats in the East and the resulting relocation of the New Orleans Hornets to the Western Conference, Portland’s intraconference match-ups will be split.
The Trail Blazers will face the other four Northwest Division teams four times (2 home and 2 road). Portland will play four-game series (2 home and 2 road) against three teams in both the Southwest and Pacific Divisions and will play three-game series (either 2 home and 1 road or 1 home and 2 road) against two clubs in both divisions. These intraconference match-ups will rotate each season.
The Trail Blazers will face the Western Conference Champion-L.A. Lakers three times (2 home and 1 road) and will meet the defending NBA Champion-Detroit Pistons twice (1 home and 1 road).
Portland will make thirteen national tv appearances. The team will make three appearances on TNT, two on ESPN and one on ESPN2. The Trail Blazers will be featured on NBATV seven times.
The 2005 NBA All-Star Game will be played on February 20 at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
The 2004-05 Pre-season schedule will be released later this week. The 2004-05 local broadcast schedule will be released later this summer.
