Robin Lopez vs. Miles Plumlee

When the Trail Blazers and Suns squared off in the season opener in Phoenix on Oct. 30, the 2013-14 season wasn’t the only thing new that day. Both teams had acquired new starting big men to anchor their rosters. While Phoenix got the better of Portland on the scoreboard on that night, Robin Lopez has only gotten better and better in his first two weeks in the red and black. And in each of Portland’s last two games, the former Suns center (2008-12) has recorded back-to-back double-doubles in helping the Trail Blazers to a pair of victories. For Plumlee, not only was he new to the Suns starting five back on opening night, the starting lineup was new to him. After appearing in 14 contests off the bench as a rookie with Indiana in 2012-13, Plumlee was traded to Phoenix this past summer in a deal that sent Luis Scola to the Pacers. Plumlee responded right away, posting a career-high tying 18 points and career-best 15 rebounds against the Trail Blazers. When Portland and Phoenix tip-off tonight, both Lopez and Plumlee will have seven starts this season under their belts, and one rematch in their minds.

Robin Lopez

• Recorded double-doubles in each of Portland’s last two games, his first two double-doubles with the Trail Blazers
• Played his first four NBA seasons with Phoenix, averaging 5.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 14.4 minutes in 242 games
• Traded to Portland from New Orleans as part of a three-team trade in the summer of 2013

Miles Plumlee

• In just his second season, currently ranks sixth in the NBA in blocks per game (2.29) and 17th in rebounding (9.6)
• Posted career bests of 18 points (tied) and 15 rebounds vs. Portland in the season opener on Oct. 30
• Traded by Indiana in the summer of 2013 along with Gerald Green and a future first round pick to Phoenix for Luis Scola
