Nicolas Batum vs. Kyle Korver

There have been more than 13,000 3-pointers made so far in the NBA this season. Golden State’s Stephen Curry easily leads the field with 195 of them. But even he hasn’t made one in every game this season. Kyle Korver has. And his NBA-record streak of 127 straight games with at least one long ball actually began close to the beginning of last season – November 4, 2012. Usually it doesn’t even take Korver more than a few attempts to keep the streak alive. His 48.4% mark from downtown is best in the NBA and well above an already impressive 42.5% career mark. Fortunately for Portland, the home team has an excellent defender at his position who is likely to accept some responsibility in slowing Korver down. Also fortunately for the Trail Blazers, that somebody is dangerous from beyond the arc himself. Nicolas Batum has 100 3-pointers on the year (29th in NBA) and 606 in his career. It’s hard to put that number into perspective until you realize that only two players in Trail Blazers history have made more with the team – Terry Porter (773) and Damon Stoudamire (717). But if you close out too hard on Batum defensively, he’ll just let someone else hit the shot. His 317 assists this season are third-most by non-guards in the league, trailing only superstars Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

Nicolas Batum

• Ranks in the NBA’s top 35 in assists (5.3, 24th), free throw shooting (82.7%, 34th) and 3-pointers made (100, 29th) this season
• His 606 3-pointers are third-most by a Trail Blazer in team history
• Ranks third in the NBA among non-guards this year in assists (317)

Kyle Korver

• Has made a 3-pointer in 127 consecutive games, the longest such streak in NBA history
• In his 11th season in the NBA and second with Atlanta
