Trail Blazers Announce Training Camp Roster
Team expected to enter training camp with 18 players
Collins (6-11, 249), has played all eight of his NBA seasons with the Utah Jazz, posting averages of 4.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 16.9 minutes in 480 games (206 starts).
After being selected by Utah with the 53rd overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft, Collins produced his best NBA season as a rookie in 2001-02, averaging a career-best 6.4 points and a career-high tying 4.2 rebounds in 70 games, including 68 starts. The 30-year-old appeared in 26 games (three starts) for the Jazz in 2008-09, averaging 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per game.
Hosley (6-7, 215), played 21 games for Real Madrid of the Spanish ACB League in 2008-09, compiling averages of 7.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 17.0 minutes. The 25-year-old competed for Dallas during the 2009 NBA Summer League, averaging 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 16.8 minutes in five games.
A 2007 graduate of Fresno State University, Hosley averaged 16.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.68 steals, and earned Second Team All-WAC honors in each of his two seasons with the Bulldogs. The New York native became the all-time leading scorer and rebounder at Lamar Community College (Colorado) from 2002-04.
Taylor (6-5, 193), spent two seasons with the Washington Wizards, averaging 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 8.5 minutes in 98 games from 2005-07. He graduated from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in 2005 after posting averages of 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 steals and 23.2 minutes in 65 games during his junior and senior seasons.
The 27-year-old spent 2008-09 in Egaleo, Greece, where he averaged 12.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 26.6 minutes in 20 games. Playing for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2009 NBA Summer League, Taylor posted averages of 5.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 14.8 minutes in five games.
The Trail Blazers open their preseason slate with a home-and-home against Sacramento, beginning Oct. 6 at the Rose Garden. Portland’s next home game will be contested at Memorial Coliseum, when the Trail Blazers host Phoenix on Oct. 14. Portland wraps up its preseason schedule with an Oct. 22 date against Phoenix in Vancouver, B.C.
