Joel Freeland started his second season as a Trail Blazer showing tremendous improvement and earning a spot in the rotation. But his progress was derailed when he suffered a right knee sprain causing him to miss 29 games from Feb. 12-April 11. During his time on the floor Freeland averaged 3.3 points (47.5% FG), 4.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 14.0 minutes in 52 games. When he returned to action on April 16 against the L.A. Clippers he tallyied six points, seven rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes. He scored a season-best 11 points (5-7 FG) Feb. 8 against Minnesota, adding six rebounds. Prior to that he grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds vs. Miami on Dec. 28.
With a tightened rotation, Freeland played limited minutes in the postseason averaging 2.7 minutes.
