Letter From Trail Blazers President, Larry Miller

Dear Fans,

We appreciate your continued patience as the NBA and the NBA Players Association negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement. I want to thank you, our loyal fans, for your patience during this process.

Today, since no such agreement has been reached, the league has postponed player training camps and cancelled preseason games scheduled through October 15, 2011. This includes Portland Trail Blazers home games scheduled for October 9, 13 and 15.

Please know that you are our Sixth Man, and we respect and appreciate the vital role you play on the Portland Trail Blazers team. It’s no secret around the league that Trail Blazers fans are the best in the NBA. We also know that the success we achieve as an organization is a direct result of your continued commitment and support.

We want to assure you that the league’s efforts are focused on reaching an agreement that benefits all parties involved. The NBA’s goal is to secure a sustainable business model that enables all 30 teams to compete for a championship, fairly compensates players, and ensures a world-class experience for our fans.

Again, we very much appreciate your patience as the league continues to work toward achieving a sustainable business model and we can get back to exciting Trail Blazers Basketball.

Sincerely,

Larry Miller
President
