WHO
The community is invited to join the family, friends, teammates and colleagues of former Trail Blazers great Jerome Kersey to pay respect to one of the best players in team history and a cherished member of the Portland community.
WHAT
The Trail Blazers and Kersey family will honor Jerome with a celebration of life service. Jerome passed away Wednesday, February 18, at the age of 52.
Kersey helped lead the Trail Blazers to the NBA Finals twice during an 11-year career in Portland as part of some of the franchise’s most successful teams from 1984-95. He played 17 seasons in the NBA and won an NBA Championship with the Spurs in 1999.
Shortly following his NBA career, Kersey moved back to Portland as a beloved and impactful member of the community. Kersey was an original member of the Trail Blazers Alumni Ambassador program formed in 2007, and he most recently held the role of Director of Alumni Relations for the organization.
WHEN
Monday, March 2, at 4 p.m.
WHERE
The celebration of Jerome's life will take place at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the site of his illustrious career with the Trail Blazers. The Coliseum is located at 300 N. Ramsay Way in Portland, Ore. Doors open at 3 p.m. Rose Quarter garages (excluding the Annex Garage) will be open to the public.
