Zach Randolph Gives Assist to Portland Parks Youth Programs

February 8, 2005

Youth participating in Portland Parks and Recreation’s 2005 basketball league hosted an appreciation event for Portland Trail Blazers’ Zach Randolph at the Matt Dishman Recreational Center. Randolph recently made a $47,000 donation to the Parks Foundation directed to the purchase of new jerseys for all participants.

In addition, Randolph participated in a basketball clinic for more than 40 kids participating in the Portland Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball program at Dishman. The league has over four hundred teams comprised of boys and girls.

"I was just happy that I could help a program like this. It's very important to me that kids have a chance to stay off the streets and have something like this league to be involved in," said Randolph.
