On June 28, 2005 the Portland Trail Blazers drafted Martell Webster and Jarrett Jack. The new Trail Blazers were introduced to the organization at a press conference on June 30 out at the team's practice facility.
After dealing with some rough travel set-backs, both rookies arrived at the practice facility where they were introduced by Trail Blazers GM John Nash. Each put on a Trail Blazer hat and held up their new jerseys, Webster sporting number 8 and Jack opting for number 4.
Following the press conference, Webster and Jack met with some fans to sign autographs and take pictures.
The newest Trail Blazers will be in town over the weekend conditioning and participating in the team's mini camp in preparation for summer league. Summer league is in Las Vegas this year and the team's first game is July 6.

About Martell Webster:
Webster, a guard/forward out of Seattle Prep had originally committed to Washington but then became an early entry candidate for the 2005 NBA Draft. He was named a 2005 McDonald’s All-American and finalist for the Naismith Award. He was also named to the PARADE Magazine All-America First Team.
As a senior in high school, Webster averaged 27.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists as Seattle Prep went 19-5. He is 6-7 and weighs 210. Webster is the cousin of Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks.
About Jarrett Jack:
Jack is a 6-3, 202 guard out of Georgia Tech and was an early entry candidate into the 2005 NBA Draft. Jack was the sixth player in school history to record 1,000 points and 500 assists. He started every game of his collegiate career except Senior Day at Georgia Tech.
