The Portland Trail Blazers will host their 2005 Draft Party – sponsored by Bud Light, Tuesday, June 28 at Hayden’s Lakefront Grill, from 4:00-8:30pm.
The Trail Blazers will pick third in the first round in the 2005 NBA Draft based on the May 24th lottery. In the second round, Portland will have the fifth pick (35th overall) based on inverse order of consolidated standings at the end of the regular season.
Trail Blazers broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice will host a special addition of Blazers Courtside Monday Night on Newsradio 750 KXL live from the Draft Party at Hayden’s, with Brian Wheeler handling coverage from the team's Practice Facility.
Trail Blazers President Steve Patterson will go live from the Practice Facility to party guests at Hayden’s and Newsradio 750 KXL listeners following Portland’s first pick. Steve Patterson and John Nash will later join fans for a press conference at Hayden’s at the conclusion of the Draft.
Trail Blazers Alumni, Blaze and the BlazerDancers will meet and greet over the course of the event at Hayden's. The Jammin 95.5 Street Team will be looking to have some fun lakeside as well. The Trail Blazers and Special Olympics of Oregon Street Jam will also be on hand to provide a taste of July’s Street Jam.
