What do you get when you have not one, but two GPS systems in your car? Lost!
As a result, Traci, Antonio and I were fashionably late to the
Coos Bay Boys and Girls Club. We arrived to more than 125 kids awaiting our arrival, not to mention a number of parents and media.
Many of the kids were sporting Oden or Roy jerseys. One even rocked a ‘vintage’ Jamaal Magliore ‘T’. All were eager to play, and the enthusiasm was contagious. Lots of Trail Blazers fans here, and it was fun to spend two hours with them.
Our new buddy Tanner – on the sidelines recovering from more emotional and physical pain than anyone his age should ever endure – was a great reminder of why we do what we do. During our visit, and his phone chat with Nate McMillan, he could enjoy a little happiness, and he deserves it. See you at the Rose Garden this season, Tanner!
After the clinic, Traci and I paid a visit to the
Coos Bay Rotary Club while Dick, Antonio, Michelle and Alissa stopped by our Coos Bay radio affiliate,
KHSN, to check in, deliver gifts and talk Trail Blazers.
Then it as a beautiful drive in the Sedona from the coast to Canyonville, where we had the pleasure of staying at the
Seven Feathers Hotel and Casino Resort, and enjoying outstanding accommodations, good food, a little luck at the blackjack table and some top-flight entertainment from ‘Cher’ and her friends at the hotel lounge.
Tomorrow, it’s a short drive to Roseburg for Day 3.
