The Portland Trail Blazers participated in the 2004 Portland Rose Festival in many ways this year.
In addition to having a team float,
Bill Schonely served as the Grand Marshal of the parade and the organization had a team in the
Starlight run.
The Trail Blazers float for the 2004 Grand Floral Parade was designed by Studio Concepts and decorated by team employees and
Fan Advisory Board members.
The float entry had team members from every decade of Blazers history. Appearing on the float were:
Blaze, the team mascot
Clyde Drexler, who will be entering the Basketball Hall of Fame this year
Kevin Duckworth, who spent 7 years with the Trail Blazers and went to NBA Finals twice
Jerome Kersey Trail Blazers Director of Player Programs and eleven year Trail Blazers player
Steve Patterson, Trail Blazers President
Zach Randolph, NBA's Most Improved Player
Dale Schlueter, who was a member of the Trail Blazers inaugural team in 1970-71
Damon Stoudamire, who lead team in assists this season averaging 6.1 apg
Bob Gross, who was a member of the Trail Blazers title team in 1976-77
Ian Jaquis, the Executive Director of the Oregon Disability Sports and Captain of the Wheel Blazers
