On November 9, the Portland Trail Blazers Read To Achieve Tour stopped by Sunset Elementary School in Hermiston, Oregon. Sunset is recognized as a real reading machine. One fifth grade class has read over 200 books since this school year started!
Third graders participated in the traditional Read To Achieve Cheer as well as recited the Read To Achieve Pledge. The students then accepted the Read To Achieve Challenge. This challenge requires the students to read for a set amount of consecutive days.
If they complete the challenge, they receive a Portland Trail Blazers' team poster! The school also received a team autographed basketball!
