Trail Blazers Begin Renewal Process For 2009-10 Season

PORTLAND, OR – The Portland Trail Blazers have accelerated the Season Ticket Holder renewal process for the 2009-10 season to begin early planning in the event that the NBA Playoffs return to Portland for the first time since 2003.

Renewal packets will be sent out on Monday, February 9, to each existing customer detailing their specific pricing information for each potential playoff series and for the 2009-10 season.

“We want to continue to build upon the incredible momentum that Trail Blazers fans have generated by selling out 50 consecutive games and making the Rose Garden one of basketball’s best venues,” Trail Blazers Chief Marketing Officer Sarah Mensah said. “The fan support has been incredible, and has been instrumental in fueling the team’s success this season.”

Should the Blazers advance to the postseason, prices in the first round would be identical to regular season pricing and would escalate for additional rounds. For the 2009-10 season, there will be an average overall price increase of 6.7 percent. The increase will not affect fans in the upper bowl, where prices will go unchanged.

“Throughout this process, we have weighed the economic concerns of ticket holders, sponsors and fans and taken steps to ensure that there is a price plan for every fan,” Mensah said. “We recognize the significant investment our fans make as season ticket holders, and our challenge will always be to make sure that the excitement, the value and the benefits are exceeding the costs.”

The Trail Blazers are the only NBA team to thank fans with a Loyalty Reward that provides an additional savings of up to 20 percent based upon the ticket holder’s continuous tenure.

Fans will have until March 16 to commit to renewing for the 2009-2010 season. Next month, the team will also begin the process of selling new full season ticket packages with an invitation-only Open House at the Rose Garden for fans who are current multi-game or ticket package buyers.
