Trail Blazers Alumni Ambassador Corps
As a part of the unveiling of their newly branded community relations program, the Trail Blazers announced the formation of the Trail Blazers Community Ambassador Corps. Ambassadors will be incorporated into the team’s work in the community this season, bridging our past to our present and keeping all generations of Trail Blazers a part of our community efforts.
Chris Dudley Chris Dudley joined the Portland Trail Blazers during the 93-94 season. He went on to play with the New York and the Phoenix before returning to the Trail Blazers roster in 2001 where he played until his retirement from professional basketball in 2003. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of M Financial Wealth Management, Dudley is also CEO and founder of The Dudley Foundation. Chris has been recognized for his ongoing charitable contributions by many awards including the J.Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award in 1996, the USA Today’s Most Caring Athlete Award in 1997, and the Non-Partisan Award personally presented by President Bush in 2003. Harry Glickman In 1970, Glickman, teamed with other local investors to win an expansion franchise with the National Basketball Association. The Portland Trail Blazers became the first major-league sports franchise in the Pacific Northwest. Glickman served as executive vice president of the team for several years before assuming his role as the team’s first president from 1987 to 1994. Serving president emeritus in retirement, Glickman is also involved with Portland Family Entertainment and was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1986 for his contribution to sports in Oregon. Jerome Kersey Drafted in 1984 NBA Draft by Portland, Kersey was part of the nucleus of the strong Portland team of the early 90’s, making it to the NBA Finals in 1990 and 1992. Kersey was near the top in many of Portland's career categories at the time of his leaving. In the 1995/96 season Kersey signed with the Golden State Warriors, and went on to play for several other teams before his retirement in 2001. Kersey served as the Trail Blazers Director of Player Programs in 2003-2004 before accepting an assistant coaching position with the Milwaukee Bucks. Kersey now resides in Portland. Dale Schlueter Dale Schlueter was a 6’10” center drafted out of Colorado State by the San Francisco Warriors in the 1967 draft. One of the original Trail Blazers, Schlueter was acquired by the team in the 1970 Expansion Draft. He played backup center during the inaugural season then took over as starter for most of 1971-72. Schlueter played in the National Basketball Association from 1968 to 1978, returning to the Blazers roster for his final season in 1977-78. An active member of the Trail Blazers family, Schlueter remains connected to the organization through his work in the community. |
