Blazers All-Star Forward Rasheed Wallace and his family will bring his annual winter coat drive to Portland. A program he has hosted in Philadelphia over the past four years will benefit the Portland community this season. Rasheed will lead the charge in asking the public to donate new or clean, carefully used coats throughout the month of October.
In partnership with the Salvation Army, the coats collected will go to families in need serviced by the Army’s “Coats for Kids” campaign. A public service campaign promoting the collection will be featured through Blazers radio broadcasts. Wallace and his family will appear at a public coat drive at Lloyd Center Mall and will promote a collection at the Blazers home opener against the LA Lakers at the Rose Garden on October 30.
