Pete Pranica is in his fourth year as a member of the Blazers Broadcasting team and his third as the television play-by-play voice of the Blazers on both Blazer Cable and KGW-TV 8.

Prior to his play-by-play duties, the 21-year veteran of the radio and television airwaves was the studio host for the Blazers Radio Network while also hosting the "Inside the Numbers" segment on BlazerVision and offering sideline reports during the Blazers playoff run. Pranica also provided the play-by-play call for the Seattle Seahawks' preseason telecasts in 1999 and 2000.

Prior to coming to Portland, Pranica was a weekend anchor for the Northbrook, IL-based One-on-One Sports (now Sporting News Radio Network), the nation's largest 24-hour sports radio network. Pranica gained his first NBA experience during six seasons as the backup radio play-by-play voice of the Detroit Pistons between 1990-1996. He also provided play-by-play and sideline reporting for a variety of events carried on Fox Sports Chicago. Pranica's broadcasting career began at tiny, 10-watt WGBP-FM, the same high school radio station that produced CBS and Turner broadcaster Kevin Harlan. A 1986 graduate of Notre Dame, Pranica was behind the microphone for Notre Dame football, basketball and hockey and was the voice of the Irish's appearances in the NCAA baseball and women's soccer championships, all between 1982 and 1994.

Prior to taking over the television play-by-play duties, Pranica served as the Blazers publications manager. In that capacity, he handled Rip City Magazine, HOOP game program and the various media guides that are produced throughout the year.

Pranica and his wife, Mary, reside in Beaverton.
