Nike Basketball Clinic at McCoy, Kenton Park

McCoy Park, July 20

The fourth Trail Blazers Make It Better Nike Basketball Clinic was held at McCoy Park in North Portland. The campers who braved the near 100-degree heat received nearly individualized instruction from our Basketball Outreach Dynamic Duo, Coach Adrian and Coach Boomer.

After what must have seemed in the heat like a never ending progression of drills and agility skill development exercises, the campers participated in shooting contests and games of knock out. Check our Hoops Camp’s page for the complete schedule here.

Kenton Park, July 21

The popularity of the Make It Better Nike Basketball Clinics is rising like the heat index. More than 50 brave, eager young basketball players overcame the temperature to learn from Coach Adrian, Coach Boomer and the rest of the Trail Blazers Basketball Outreach Clinic Staff at Kenton Park.

The campers, some of whom probably came for the free t-shirt, got basketball lessons, agility skills, and two hours of fun on a perfectly clear day. After warming up and learning a better way to do some drills, the campers got down to business in some scrimmages that were as competitive as they were sweaty. The only thing busier than the basketball was the water jug which was filled and refilled several times.

Tomorrow’s camp is at Harold Oliver Intermediate School in SE Portland. There are three more clinics scheduled after that. Check out the Trail Blazers Hoops Camp page for a full schedule here.
