Mike Barrett is in his sixth season as a member of Blazers Broadcasting team and his second as the television play-by-play voice of the Blazers on KGW-TV 8 and Fox Sports Net.

A 13-year Portland radio/television veteran, Barrett joined the Trail Blazers broadcast team before the 1999-2000 season as the radio studio host, and worked as the television sideline reporter during the team's run to the Western Conference Finals. In the spring of 2000, he became the WNBA Portland Fire's first-ever TV and radio play-by-play broadcaster and continued in that role until the team disbanded.

A native of Albany, Oregon, Barrett graduated from Oregon State University in 1991 and moved to Portland for a position with KUIK-AM 1360 in Hillsboro, calling high school basketball games. Less than three months later, in March of 1992, he was hired as the Sports Director at KXL-AM in Portland. While at KXL, Barrett worked morning and afternoon drive sports for over seven years, and anchored live broadcasts of the Fred Meyer Challenge, the Cascade Run-off, and Portland Marathon.

Expanding his experience in the field, Barrett was also assigned to the University of Oregon broadcast team in the fall of 1993 as the back-up play-by-play broadcaster for football and basketball, and worked as the sideline reporter during football broadcasts for seven seasons.

In the fall of 1999, Barrett left KXL, and joined the Trail Blazers as the radio studio host and editor of Rip City Magazine, the official magazine of the Portland Trail Blazers. He has also hosted "Home Court" the television pre-game show, and "The Tony Roma's 5th Quarter" radio post-game show on the Blazers Satellite Radio Network, and continues to host "Courtside Monday Night" along with Steve Jones and Mike Rice.

Barrett and his wife, Shelly, reside in Tualatin.
