Audition Tips

Marlene's Tips for Auditions
1. Start practicing NOW. If you haven't taken a dance class or if you
haven't worked out in a long time, start going to a gym or dance class to
get your muscles and heart ready for one full week of hard work.
2. Think about what you're going to wear to auditions. Try to look the
same each day so the judges and coach remembers you. For example, if
you're wearing a red top and black dance pants on Saturday and you make it
to Sunday's audition, try to wear red again. Believe me it helps.
3. Always come to auditions "GAME READY" which means hair and make-up
done. Take pride in how you look infront of the judges on and off the
court (or stage). The judges are always watching.
4. Make some friends. It always helps to make some friends because you
can get together with dancers to practice for auditions. In addition to
that, they can become friends for life.

5. Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you are confused about a dance
move, ask the teacher directly so you can get the correct answer. Your
question might be someone elses as well.
6. Bring WATER and a light snack to auditions. You don't know how long
you might be there and you want to be prepared.
7. Stay focused.
8. Have FUN!! This tip is probably the most important. If you are
having fun people can feel it and they want to be around it. Have a great
attitude and enjoy the process.
Hope to see you all there!!
