Draft Selections and Trade Announcements

If you are paying attention to any other media source at this time you've heard lots of rumors and even allegedly confirmed reports of all sorts of trades and speculation surrounding the Trail Blazers and various other teams.
Due to NBA policy, that you can read below, we simply can't confirm anything at this point and time. But what we can tell you is that due to the same NBA policy, no trade has been officially completed and can't be until the draft has begun and any 2006 pick involved in the trade has been selected.
We'll keep you posted as soon as the NBA has confirmed any deal.
NBA POLICY
Please be reminded that teams are prohibited from announcing publicly the terms of any potential trade prior to its official completion via a trade conference call with the League Office. This rule applies throughout the year, including on the night of the NBA Draft.
On Draft night, trades will only be announced by the NBA during the Draft telecast on ESPN, provided the trade call is completed prior to the end of the Draft. If a trade call is completed after the Draft has concluded, the terms of the trade will subsequently be announced by the teams, as per the usual rule, at a time agreed upon by all teams involved in the trade.
Please also be reminded that teams are prohibited from publicly disclosing the player(s) they intend to select in the Draft. All such selections will be announced by the NBA during the Draft telecast.
Violations of the foregoing will result in substantial penalties.
