Brian Wheeler
Brian Wheeler is entering his fourth year as the radio play-by-play voice of the Portland Trail Blazers. Wheeler's exciting style and trademark "BOOM-CHAKA-LAKA" dunk calls have endeared him to basketball fans throughout the Blazers' Radio Network.

Prior to joining the Blazers, "Wheels" spent the previous three years as a member of the Sacramento Kings Broadcast Network talent team. In addition to handling the host duties for the club's weekly radio talk show, "Kings Talk," on KHTK 1140 AM, he served as the backup radio play-by-play announcer to broadcast veteran Grant Napear. He also hosted the club's pre and post game and halftime shows as well as airing his own nightly program "Wheels After Work." In addition, Wheeler logged two seasons as the play-by-play voice of the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs.

Prior to joining the Kings, the Los Angeles native spent two years in Seattle handling the Sonics pre and post game and halftime shows as a member of the SuperSonics radio network team. He also hosted a nightly talk show on KJR, the Sonics' flagship radio station.

After earning a broadcasting/communications degree in 1983 from Loyola University of Chicago, Wheeler spent nine years as the basketball play-by-play announcer for his alma mater. He also worked as the pre and post game and halftime host for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox radio networks, and was a general play-by-play announcer and reporter for SportsChannel Chicago.

Single, Wheeler lists music and movies as his hobbies. He is also active in the Blazers Community Builders program, which helps to revitalize sections of the Portland community and has provided support for the Blazers Boys and Girls Club as well as for Easter Seals.
