Blazers fly south to take on the Warriors

The Portland Trail Blazers (38-34) travel south to Oakland to take on the Golden State Warriors (43-27) at Oracle Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Pacific.

Tonight’s game is the fourth and final regular season meeting between the Blazers and Warriors. Portland won the first two games against Golden State, both at the Rose Garden, by an average of 14 points.

Portland is the only team that has held Golden State under 100 points twice this season, winning 105-95 on Dec. 12 and 109-91 on Jan. 9. The Warriors have scored 100 points or more in each of their 34 games since.

In the most recent contest, the Warriors exacted a bit of revenge defeating the Blazers 110-104. Stephen Jackson led all scorers with 29 points. In the first two meetings the Blazers held Jackson, who is averaging 20.9 points per game, to 5 and 9 points.

Brandon Roy, who will not be available tonight due to a groining injury, was the Trail Blazers’ high scorer in the last meeting, logging 26 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

LaMarcus Aldridge, who missed Tuesday night’s win against the Washing Wizards with a sprained ankle, did travel with the team and is a game-time decision. Aldridge has averaged 21 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1 steal in the month of March.

Six Trail Blazers are averaging double-digit scoring vs. the Warriors this season. James Jones is averaging 16.3 points in three games versus Golden State this season, including a season-high 21 points on Dec. 12 in Portland. Joel Przybilla is averaging a double-double of 10.3 points and 10.0 rebounds in three games and Steve Blake’s 13.3 points versus the Warriors this year is highlighted by a season-high 24 points Jan. 9 in Portland.

Tonight’s contest will be the Blazers’ third game in four nights. They return home to play the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday.

The game airs nationally on TNT starting at 7:30. As always, you can listen to Brian Wheeler and Antonio Harvey call the game on the Blazers Radio Network.
