New Trail Blazers Meet With the Media

February 11, 2004

The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired Forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Center Theo Ratliff, and Guard Dan Dickau from the Atlanta Hawks for Forward/Center Rasheed Wallace and Forward Wesley Person.

Today Abdur-Rahim, Ratliff, and Dickau arrived in Portland and had their first press conference with the Portland Trail Blazers. "It’s like a dream come true, ever since I was a kid I have followed the Trail Blazers", Dan Dickau said. "They are my team."

Both Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Theo Ratliff are former all-stars and will be a great asset to the Trail Blazers. Dickau is a local young player that the Trail Blazers believe will have
a positive impact on the team.

Trail Blazers Guard Damon Stoudamire attended the press conference to welcome the three new players. Forward Zach Randolph also greeted his new teammates earlier this morning when they arrived. "Other players in the locker room are going to be welcoming to the new players," said General Manager John Nash.
