Blazers Alumni Team Takes on Local Media



The 2002 Blazers Alumni team begin the twenty-third season at the Blazers vs. Toronto match up January 2. Comprised of former NBA and Blazers players, the Blazers Alumni team will take on a celebrity media team during a special halftime game for fans in attendance.

Alumni Team For more than two decades, the Blazers Alumni team has played basketball games throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington to raise funds for charity. In the last 22 seasons, the Blazers Alumni team has grossed more than two million dollars for local charity and assisted more than 600 charities.

Members of the 2002 Blazers Alumni Team Roster playing tonight include Greg Smith, Michael Harper, Mark Radford, Darnell Valentine and current Blazers Community Ambassador Nick Jones.

The celebrity media team will include coach Chuck Knopf of KWJJ-FM’s morning show and teammates: KPTV’s sports reporter Dan Christopherson, KATU’s sports reporter Katy Brown, KPTV-TV Good Day Oregon morning host Ken Ackerman, KGW reporter Steve Jefferson and KGW sports reporter Ron Pivo.
