Mo Williams, Trail Blazers And Moda Health Team Up To Launch "Give & Go" Assist Program

Team Will Donate $5 for Every Trail Blazers Assist This Season

PORTLAND, Ore. (December 20, 2013) – The Portland Trail Blazers, guard Mo Williams and Moda Health have teamed up to launch a new community program that focuses on the health, fitness and overall wellness of children in the local community called the “Give & Go” assist program.

For every Trail Blazers assist this season, the team will donate five dollars to help support healthy, active living for children throughout the state. At the end of the NBA’s regular season, Moda Health will match the total funds raised by the Trail Blazers and the two organizations will donate the total amount to benefit the cause.

Television and radio commercials for the Give & Go assist program began airing this week. The spots feature Williams, a first-year Trail Blazer, as the community spokesperson for the program.

“Encouraging children to live healthy lifestyles is something I take very seriously,” said Williams. “I have children of my own and a youth academy for student-athletes in my hometown. I’ve learned that creating a healthy, active environment for kids helps build the foundation for a successful future.”

The program includes every assist made during the 2013-14 regular season. As of Dec. 20, the Trail Blazers have dished out 635 assists through 27 games.
