Team Duckworth Walk for Heart Health

They may call it the ‘off’ season, but on a beautiful Portland Saturday morning in May, a team of Trail Blazers gathered early at the Rose Quarter to Make It Better, raise money and awareness for heart health and remember and honor our friend Kevin Duckworth.
A red-clad contingent of more than 50, including Trail Blazers staff, alumni and several of Duck’s close friends and family members, represented ‘Team Duckworth’ at the American Heart Association’s Start! Heart walk.
Starting at the east end of the Hawthorne Bridge, Team Duckworth began the three-mile course with a group picture at the ‘Duck Dock’ and continued over the Steel Bridge, through the new Saturday Market and over the Hawthorne Bridge.
Augmented nicely by ‘warm-up’ and ‘cool-down’ walks to and from the Rose Garden (whew!) the walk was a perfect way to stay active, reminisce about our friend, enjoy good company and raise money for a good cause.
