Nike Basketball Clinic at Grout School, July 14
The clinics keep getting bigger and bigger. Portland Public School brought more than 60 kids to this summer’s second Make It Better Nike Basketball Clinic. The clinic, which was at Grout School, was the second of nine clinics scheduled for this summer. See here for the full schedule and to download a registration form. Again, Coach Boomer and his colleagues led the kiddos through some agility building exercises before getting to the basketball specific activities. After a few minutes of warming up, the participants were thankful that Grout’s outdoor courts are covered as by early afternoon the sun had warmed things up. After nearly two hours, several refilled water jugs, and free t-shirts for everyone at the clinic, the kids were happy to get back on the bus. The clinic was part of the Make It Better Nike Basketball Clinic program that is a partnership between the Trail Blazers and Nike.
