Lillard, Westbrook Meet in National Spotlight as Blazers Host Thunder

by Cody Sharrett

The Portland Trail Blazers (24-35) tip-off a busy March slate Thursday night when they host the Northwest Division rival Oklahoma City Thunder (35-25) as part of a nationally televised NBA doubleheader on TNT. The two sides have split the two previous meetings this season, with the home victorious on both occasions.

The point guard matchup features two of the NBA's top scorers as the Blazers' Damian Lillard goes head-to-head with Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook. Westbrook enters Thursday's game with a league-leading 31.2 points per game and 30 triple-doubles to his name this season. Lillard is seventh in the NBA with 26 points to go with 5.8 assists and five rebounds per game.

Dating back to their days as the Seattle Supersonics, the Thunder lead the all-time series versus Portland, 116-110. The Blazers own a 73-40 advantage in the Rose City in the two sides' history dating back to 1971.

Tipoff is set for 7:30pm Pacific from Moda Center as Kevin Harlan, Reggie Miller and Lewis Johnson highlight TNT's coverage of the matchup. Brian Wheeler has the call on Rip City Radio 620 and the Trail Blazers mobile app.
