Casey Holdahl sits down with the Trail Blazers and asks what moment during the 07-08 season they’ll remember the most and what overarching themes or they’ve taken away from the season.

Raef LaFrentz

“I’m going to say Joel Przybilla’s 26 rebounds. 26 rebounds is a lot of boards. I don’t care who you’re playing in the NBA. I don’t care where it’s at; 26 rebounds is a lot of boards, and Joel gobbled ‘em up. That’s the most rebounds I’ve actually seen in an NBA basketball game. That’s quite a feat.”

“I’ve enjoyed personally every member of this team, ever member of this coaching staff. Everybody brings something to the table. The person-to-person relationships have been enjoyable.”

Nate McMillan

“The start of that winning streak for us in Memphis. We were struggling on the road. We’ve had a tough November. Travis gets the ball on a broken play, and he goes from half court to the basket and scores the winning bucket. That play, I can see it just as clearly now as when it unfolded. I would say that really got things started as far as that winning streak.”

“We saw growth. We saw improvement. We’re going to have to get better and get stronger. But we saw Brandon become and All-Star. We saw LaMarcus’ potential. We saw Travis become a player and establish a role on this team. We saw the growth of Martell and his potential. We saw Joel improve. We saw what we needed to see as our guys who we were developing, a very young team, showed improvement. They got better, they won games. And I think they’ve given us the confidence that, in the future, we’re going to be a pretty good team. We just need to add a player or two to our roster. Our goal is to get to the playoffs and win a championship. We saw the potential of this team.”

Jarrett Jack

“Definitely the 13-game winning streak. I remember when the streak ended in Utah -- that was New Years for us -- of just being in awe, so to speak, on that plane ride to Minnesota of what we had just accomplished. That’s such a difficult thing to do and I think that’s definitely something to be proud of.”

“I just respect that we’ve got teammates and guys who come in everyday that come to work. The first couple of years that I was here I think we had guys who kind of put basketball secondary and put the lifestyle more in the forefront. Now we’ve got guys that are all about basketball; all about winning; all about playing the right way and competing every single game. You can’t ask for anything more than that.”

Brandon Roy

“13-game win streak. That’s the most memorable moment. That was a great feeling. When it’s 13 in a row, it’s like one moment. You’re just lost in it.”

“We proved a lot of people wrong. We have a young team and we lost Greg and everybody counted us out. So I think from now on I’ll always remember this season as the season people counted us out. We did a good job of proving our doubters wrong.”

LaMarcus Aldridge

“The 13-game winning streak. It was a long moment. It was a long moment in time that everybody remembers. That was my first time ever doing something like that.”

“I’ll remember the big improvement from the fans from last year to this year. I’m going to think about how crowded the arena was and how it’s going to be next year.”

James Jones

“The streak. 13 games out of nowhere. No one expected us to do anything special and we kind of captivated the city and kind of surprised ourselves and put ourselves on the map. We transformed our perception in everyone else’s eyes from being underdogs or a young talented team to a competitive team that’s going to be a force to be reckoned with in the next couple of years”

“It’s just a memorable season. Guys are breaking through and finally arriving. LaMarcus, Brandon, myself, Steve. Travis -- we call him Mr. Fourth Quarter. You look across the board and there are guys who were no ones, unknowns. Everyone came out and proved a bunch of people wrong and kind of surprised and proved to ourselves that we’re the future of the NBA.”

Travis Outlaw

“LaMarcus’ game winner at Milwaukee. I’ll remember how he left his hand up as he was bouncing down the court after he hit that shot.”

“This season I felt like everybody grew up. We matured together; we didn’t have some person who thought they were better than someone else. All together, everybody was trying to help each other out. It wasn’t like ‘I’m going to tell you this because of who I am.’ Everybody was trying to make time for each other and pay attention to each other.”

Channing Frye

“It would honestly have to be my first time going out to the track and seeing how many guys are actually here. I think that really showed me what type of team we were going to have and what type of organization this was and it really got me energized for this season. That was early, like September. It just showed me that everybody was dedicated to the season; everybody was dedicated to each other and that the guys really wanted to be here.”

“I’ll remember a lot about this season. I’ll remember about me growing up a lot this season. It’s just a matter of creating relationships with each other and really growing up inside yourself. For me here, getting an opportunity for me to go from the highest of the highs to the lowest of the lows and throughout all that I still stayed consistent. I think that’s the biggest thing I’m going to remember is that I stayed consistent and that I didn’t let a lot of things effect me as much as I think I would have in the past.
