D Wright Way Foundation Hosts Thanksgiving Festival

PORTLAND, Ore - Dorell Wright's foundation, the D Wright Way Foundation, held a Thanksgiving Festival for local youth at the Kliever Memorial Armory in northeast Portland last week.

The spirited event benefited students of the Open Meadow Schools “STEP-UP” Program - a satellite program of the Open Meadow schools, which is offered at three northeast Portland high schools aiming to reduce dropout rates.  The day of fun-filled festivities included a fully catered Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings, bringing Open Meadow Students closer to each other and their families.

The evening was full of lively entertainment: arcade games, photo booth, henna tattoos, free raffles, arts & crafts and more.

With the availability of a hot prepared meal in the spirit of the holiday, the Annual Thanksgiving Festival was a welcome comfort for disadvantaged families.  It provided a safe and fun environment for the children to celebrate the holiday while enjoying the company of their families.

Said Wright: “Everyday I am in awe of and touched by the unwavering support I receive from my fans and my new community, who support the D Wright Way Foundation. I realize the importance of giving back to the community and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to do so with my foundation. Without my fans and those who champion me, I wouldn’t be blessed to be in the position I am today.  I am humbled that I can be of some valuable assistance to my new hometown.”
