Fannie Mae Foundation Blazers Home Team
The 1999-2000 season marked the 5th year of the Blazers and Fannie Mae Foundation's "Home Team" partnership. Each season, support is provided to a local community development corporation and its mission to improve the quality of life for deserving neighborhoods and residents. Annually, a $75,000 grant from the Fannie Mae Foundation and $15,000 from the Blazers' fundraising efforts go toward the renovation and construction of affordable housing in the Portland community. To date, the Home Team program's efforts have resulted in 29 new or renovated homes that have been made available to low-to moderate-income homebuyers. Last season, Blazers staff, coaches, players and alumni team members volunteered in the efforts to revitalize two dilapidated houses in Northeast Portland, just minutes from the Rose Garden.

76 "Points for Parks"
Union 76 and the Blazers teamed up with Portland Parks & Recreation to help refurbish inner city basketball courts in neighborhood parks. 76 donated $50 for each three-point shot made by the Blazers during televised broadcasts during the regular season, upping the donation to $200 per three-point shot during the NBA Playoffs. The Blazers made 155 three-point shots, for a total donation of $10,000 to Portland Parks and Recreation courtesy of 76 and the Blazers.

Alaska Airlines GPA+ Program
The Blazers, Alaska Airlines and Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland teamed up for the fifth season to offer the "Grades Plus Attitude" incentive program to middle school students. Club kids who showed improvement in academics, attendance and community service earned the opportunity to go on a road trip with the Blazers. Last season, 12 students flew to Los Angeles, visited Universal Studios and watched the Blazers play the Clippers at the Staples Center.
