Trail Blazers Receive Portland Public School Honors

The Portland Public Schools honored the Trail Blazers for their ongoing support of Portland Schools. A presentation was given along with a trophy award.
The Trail Blazers organization was recognized as having more executives participate in Principal for a Day than any other business in Portland.
The Trail Blazers were recognized for efforts to promote the importance of literacy through the following programs:
NBA Read to Achieve Celebrations
Community Ambassador and Blaze the mascot visiting nearly every 3rd grader in Portland
Blazers staff delivering books to 3rd grade classrooms
Blazers employee involvement in the SMART reader program
Community Ambassador's efforts in middle and high schools with sports, math and journalism
The Trail Blazers Excellence in Education Awards
The Trail Blazers were also thanked for the Blazers employee volunteer program and numerous school district assists. The Portland Public Schools also thanked the organization for hosting their monthly administrators retreat at the Rose Quarter.
