Did you see the Rose Festival Floats?

We hope so, because the hard work of the Blazers Community Builders Team #17 was featured on the award winning "Ford" float. The team of 10 spent all day last Thursday June 5, at Studio Concepts decorating the Ford Motor Company/NW Ford float.

Studio Concepts is a design studio/warehouse in NW Portland. Not only do they create floats for the Rose Festival, but for the Rose Parade (Pasadena) and the Fiesta Bowl Parade. They do all the decorating with mostly volunteer help.

Thanks to everyone on Team #17 for their hard work- it's not as easy as it looks. The majority of a festival float must be completely covered by organic material. So every part, even what you don't see, is glued and covered with a seed, dried flower, or dried fruit. Good job!
