Rasheed Wallace Gathers Coats for Kids
Portland Trail Blazers Rasheed Wallace brought his winter coat drive, a program he has sponsored for the last four years in his hometown of Philadelphia, to Portland. In partnership with the Salvation Army, the collected coats will go to families in need serviced by the Army’s “Coats for Kids” campaign.
Wallace led the charge and asked the public to donate new or lightly used coats throughout the month of October.
The public drive was held on October 29 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. outside Nordstrom at Lloyd Center. Fans can also donate coats on October 30 when doors open at the Rose Garden at 5:00 p.m.
The Rasheed A. Wallace Foundation was established in 1997 to promote programs that enhance the quality of life for all people and assist in the recreational and educational develolpment of youth in Philadelphia, PA., Porltand, OR and Durham, NC.
