Heart of the Community



The Blazers host the annual Blazers Community Builders Heart of the Community Awards in partnership with VolunteerWorks, Portland’s volunteer center dedicated to matching volunteers of all ages with nonprofit organizations throughout communities in Oregon and Southwest Washington. The event honors exemplary volunteers who demonstrate selfless compassion and commitment to volunteerism. Award winners are chosen in five categories including outstanding youth, outstanding community volunteer outstanding senior, outstanding nonprofit volunteer manager and outstanding corporate volunteer program. The judging panel consists of individuals representing local corporations, nonprofits, retired and individual volunteers.
