Dudley Donates 1,500 Books to Schools
January 14, 2003
Chris Dudley, accompanied by Blaze, interacted with kids and read a book to the students of Vernon Elementary to help tip off the Reading Is Fundamental program. The two helped Coca-Cola donate 1,500 books to the school.
"I'm here to support education and encourage kids to read. Reading is so important in life and it's important that kids get an early start," said Dudley.
This event helped Coca-Cola begin it's partnership with the RIF program and donate books to Vernon Elementary School. Reading Is Fundamental and The Coca-Cola Company have entered into a three-year partnership to enhance the ability of RIF to provide essential literacy services to at-risk children nationwide.
This grant will be used to place 10,000 classroom library collections in high-need schools and communities during 2001-2004.
