Up and at 'em! After a quick 6-hour snooze it was time to get up, grab a bite to eat and check out of our hotel. The bus showed up at 8:45 and we were on the road by 9:10. Here is where the rest of the group and I split up.
I’m from New York, so I’m staying to visit some other NBA arenas. Tonight I’m meeting up with Ryan, my brother, and we’re driving down to Philadelphia to see the Hornets-76ers game.
Then either Friday or Saturday, I’m going to see the Nets play a home game. I will be returning to Portland on Sunday the 18th. So the group was kind enough to drop me off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal where I could catch a bus and get to my folks house. Mr. Jerry Moss has been kind enough to take over the journal entries and will fill everyone in on their trip to the airport and then their flight back to Portland. So thanks Jerry for doing that!
Before I log off, I want to thank the organization for allowing us to go on a trip like this. Thanks to Melinda G. and Theressa for working their butts off to set the whole thing up - it has been a world-class trip and we have done some amazing things. You two are to thank for that. Special thanks to everyone on the trip, this was going to be a good trip, but I felt even luckier to be part of it knowing that world-class people would be going with us. You all truly made the trip great, and it was an honor to work beside each of you these past few days. Thanks to Brian and Mary back in the Blazers office. They’ve been working hard to continually update everyone back there with the latest news and photos from our trip. If you are in the office, make sure you stop by and thank them!
Finally, a special thanks to Billy Quick. You took us under your wing and made us feel like honorary firefighters while we were in your city.
You unlocked so many doors for us; heck you opened doors where we didn't even know there were doors. You are a superstar and you and all your firefighter brothers are appreciated out in Portland.
Well that’s it for me. I’m glad I was able to write some things down for everyone back home to get a little taste of what we’ve been doing out here. I hope you enjoyed reading the diary as much as I did writing it.
So, for now, this is Mo from NY hoping all your news is good news!
