Blazers Head to Memphis on Short Rest to Face Grizzlies

Less than 24 hours after a disappointing loss in Milwaukee, the Portland Trail Blazers (12-11) head to Tennessee to visit the Memphis Grizzlies (15-8) at FedExForum. The two sides met previously this season on November 6 in Memphis as the Trail Blazers claimed a 100-94 victory over the Grizzlies.

Point guard Damian Lillard scored a game-high 30 points in Wednesday’s defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks, helping the Trail Blazers tie a season-best 16 three-point field goals made. CJ McCollum posted 23 points, while Allen Crabbe, Maurice Harkless and Mason Plumlee all recorded double-digit point totals in the defeat.

The Grizzlies last played on Tuesday, beating the Philadelphia 76ers, 96-91, at home in Memphis. Marc Gasol led the team with 26 points to go with 12 rebounds in the win. Former Trail Blazer Zach Randolph returned to the rotation for Memphis to score 12 points and grab 14 rebounds after missing seven games following the passing of his mother.

Thursday’s tipoff is set for 5pm Pacific as Kevin Calabro, Lamar Hurd and Brooke Olzendam bring the action on CSNNW. Brian Wheeler has the call on Rip City Radio 620 and the Trail Blazers mobile app.
