by Cody Sharrett

Winners of back-to-back road wins, the Portland Trail Blazers (31-37) end a five-game road trip Sunday afternoon with a visit to South Florida to take on the Miami Heat (34-35). Portland took the first meeting between the two sides, 99-92, on December 3 in the Rose City.

In 12 games since the All-Star break, the Trail Blazers are 8-4, led by Damian Lillard's 29.8 points per game in that timespan. As a team, the Blazers are shooting a league-leading 43% from behind the three-point line. CJ McCollum (50%), Maurice Harkless (50%), Allen Crabbe (47.9%), Lillard (40%), Al-Farouq Aminu (37.5%), Meyers Leonard (37.5%) and Shabazz Napier (36.8%) are converting well over one-third of their attempts from deep since play reconvened.

Similarly, the Heat are a league-best 9-3 since the All-Star break. Miami center Hassan Whiteside has recorded an NBA-best 11 double-doubles in that span, averaging 16.4 points and 15 rebounds per game.

Tipoff at American Airlines Arena is set for 3 pm Pacific on Sunday. Kevin Calabro and Lamar Hurd have the call on CSNNW, while Brooke Olzendam reports from courtside. As always, Brian Wheeler describes the play on Rip City Radio 620 and the Trail Blazers mobile app.
