Senior Vice President of Legal and Corporate Affairs, Ben Lauritsen, enters his seventh season with the Trail Blazers in 2015-16. In his general counsel role, Lauritsen directs all legal aspects of the sports and entertainment businesses for the Trail Blazers and the Rose Quarter, including contract negotiation, dispute and risk management, NBA and government compliance, and general legal and business advice. He also oversees the team’s social responsibility platform, make it better. Prior to joining the Trail Blazers, Lauritsen worked as corporate associate at Stoel Rives LLP in Portland at Latham & Watkins LLP in London, England. Lauritsen graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 2004 and spent a year as a judicial clerk for Judge David G. Campbell in the U.S. District of Arizona following graduation. Lauritsen is a frequent contributor to sports and entertainment law classes, panels and conferences. He currently resides in Southwest Portland with his wife and three children.
