The Detroit Pistons defeated the Chicago Bulls, 72-66, in a Las Vegas Summer League second-round consolation game at Cox Pavilion on Saturday.

The Bulls took the lead early and ran up the score to an 18-point advantage but the Pistons charged back and never surrendered the lead despite a late surge from Chicago in the closing minutes. Neither team shot particularly well but the Pistons prevailed by shooting 39.7 percent from the floor compared the Bulls’ 31.9 percent result.

Henry Ellenson led the way for the Pistons with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. The Pistons also got support from their 2018 second-round pick, as Bruce Brown chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.

Antonio Blakeney continued to make a case for a Bulls roster spot with another impressive performance on Saturday, as he scored a team-high 24 points. Wendell Carter also continued his excellent summer session, as the seventh pick in the 2018 NBA Draft grabbed 16 rebounds to go along with six points and two blocked shots.

Saturday’s game concludes the Summer League play for both the Pistons and the Bulls.
